Between actress Parker Posey and writer-director Zoe Cassavetes, BROKEN ENGLISH has enough indie cred to start a hip little new nation. Labelers have labeled it a romantic comedy—and the story of a romantically challenged New Yorker looking for love would certainly seem like familiar territory—but there’s an honesty and texture to what Posey and Cassavetes deliver that eludes any single genre.
