An NET Television production, '68: THE YEAR NEBRASKA MATTERED examines the turbulent presidential campaign of 1968, one of the few times Nebraska played a significant role in the national nomination process. Rarely seen footage from the campaigns of Robert F. Kennedy, Eugene McCarthy, and Richard Nixon, as well as a near-riot at an Omaha campaign rally for segregationist George Wallace, provide a fascinating backdrop to the recollections of campaign volunteers. The program also draws parallels between the 1968 campaign and the presidential politics of 2008.
