Join us Thursday, May 1 at 7pm for a special screening and post-show discussion with Rabbi Aryeh Azriel of Temple Israel, Dr. Naser Alsharif, and the Very Reverend Ernesto Medina, Dean for Urban Mission at Trinity Episcopal Cathedral. (Please note the new date and time for this discussion).
Director Joseph Cedar’s Oscar-nominated BEAUFORT tells the true story of a 22-year-old Israeli outpost commander and his troops in the months before the country’s evacuation of Lebanon in 2000. It is a powerful story not of war but of retreat. It is a story with no enemy, only an amorphous entity that drops bombs from the skies while terrified young soldiers must find a way to carry out their mission until their very last minutes on the strategic Beaufort mountaintop.
