Breaking Away 1979
Presented in collaboration with Activate Omaha
Thursday, July 9, 2009

Ranked as one of the most inspiring movies of all time by the American Film Institute, BREAKING AWAY follows four working-class teenagers played by Dennis Christopher, Dennis Quaid, Daniel Stern, and Jackie Earle Haley -- recent high school graduates living in a university-dominated town and struggling to find their place in the world. Those struggles eventually lead them on an unlikely path and improbable destiny: entering the Little 500, an annual bicycle race held on the University of Indiana campus.

Join us for this special screening and post-show panel discussion on transportation in Omaha, led by bicycling advocate and former Omaha planning director Marty Shukert. Presented in collaboration with Activate Omaha.
