Part of a double feature with THE PLEASURE GARDEN. See both for the price of one! Or, if you’re not in the mood for a marathon, pick one or the other!
CHAMPANGE is one of several films in The Hitchcock 9 that explore the follies of the rich. Here, the effervescent Betty Balfour is a spoiled girl whose life of decadence is threatened by her father’s sudden bankruptcy. What she doesn’t know is that it’s all a ruse; her father is testing her by faking financial turmoil.
We’ll be joined by the renowned Donald Sosin for this double feature of CHAMPAGNE and THE PLEASURE GARDEN. Donald Sosin is one of the foremost silent film musicians in the world. Composer, pianist, conductor, arranger, he performs all over the US and Europe each year and has recorded dozens of scores for DVD release.
