Immediately following this Special Screening, presented with Middle East Cultural and Educational Services of Omaha, will be a discussion with a comedian featured in the film, Dean Obeidallah, who also co-directed.

Frustrated that serious discussion was doing little to counter fear-mongering targeting Muslims, a band of stand-ups embarked on a road trip. Staging free shows in rural towns, big cities, liberal enclaves, and conservative strongholds, the comedians also engage the public through street performances, like the “Ask a Muslim” booth or the “Guess the Religion” game.

Featured Muslim-American comedians include co-directors Obeidallah and Negin Farsad, plus Aron Kader, Preacher Moss, Maysoon Zayid, and Omar Elba. The film also explores the power of humor and satire to open conversations and instigate change. Influential media figures like Jon Stewart, Rachel Maddow, Colin Quinn, David Cross, Janeane Garofolo, and Soledad O’Brien lend perspective.
