“Iconic script, stellar cast, great director (Joseph L. Mankiewicz), and it had the record for most Oscar nominations (14) to itself for 46 years until TITANIC tied it in 1997. ALL ABOUT EVE transformed my childhood love of movies into adult obsession. This backstage story of ruthless ambition is witty, sophisticated and loaded with classic moments. Many think diva actress Margo Channing is the best role of Bette Davis’ storied career. Also timeless: best pal Celeste Holm, schemer Anne Baxter, malignant critic George Sanders and plain-spoken maid Thelma Ritter — all Oscar nominees. Bonus: then-unknown Marilyn Monroe in a choice cameo.” – B.F.
