Gary Cooper is a professor whose hermetic world is punctured by the arrival of a nightclub performer called Sugarpuss (played by Barbara Stanwyck) in this tale of opposites attract. Billy Wilder wrote the screenplay, delivered with expert comic timing by Stanwyck and Cooper.
