Deep Dive: Cassavetes

John Cassavetes is considered a key figure in American independent cinema, and certainly one that arthouse cinemas across the US owe significant reverence towards. Cassavetes was known for personal, people-centric narratives told through raw, imperfect filmmaking.

Deep Dive: Cassavetes aims to explore the work of an American independent cinema icon through the close screening and discussion of key texts to understand and analyze this auteur’s signature style. This is a five-week Deep Dive. Each week in class students will watch a film from the syllabus and engage in a community discussion facilitated by Film Streams’ General Manager of Education, Paul Sanchez. Complimentary snacks and class materials provided.

NOTE: Holding both Saturday and Sunday sessions is contingent upon reaching half capacity (approximately 12 attendees) for each session. If either date does not reach half capacity, that session will be cancelled and refunds will be issued.

Refund Policy
 

Registration fees for Deep Dives may be refunded until two weeks prior to the first class. After that period, no refunds or exchanges will be accepted. The registration fee may not be transferred to another Deep Dive, nor is it applicable toward regularly priced programming. Refunds will not be given for a partially attended Deep Dive. In the event that Film Streams needs to cancel a Deep Dive, we will refund the registration fee.
