With his second feature film, Tim Burton firmly established his idiosyncratic style. The film follows Winona Ryder as the “strange and unusual” Lydia Deetz, whose parents move the family into the Rockwell-esque house of recently deceased Adam and Barbara Maitland (Alec Baldwin and Geena Davis), whose ghosts are still trapped inside. When Adam and Barbara seek the help of Betelgeuse (Michael Keaton) to scare away the Deetz family, they quickly regret it.
