Like the Anna Sewell novel that inspired it, this film adaptation is told from the perspective of a majestic stallion named Black Beauty (Alan Cumming). Thrust on a personal odyssey -- taking him through good times and bad, trusted friends and callous enemies, disasters both natural and man-made -- Beauty experiences the best and worst of human nature, all the while seeking a safe place where he will be loved.
