Film Information
From two-time Palme d’Or winner Cristian Mungiu, Fjord explores the debate of what is right and wrong, leaving viewers on the edge of their seats.
A Norwegian woman and her devout Romanian husband relocate with their five children to a remote, close-knit, costal town. Their teenage children form a fast bond with a neighboring family as unease begins to simmer around their rigid beliefs. When allegations of abuse emerge, they are forced to confront a system of judgement that blurs the line between concern and prejudice.
Reviews
"Mungiu isn’t really asking people to agree or disagree with what the Gheorgius do or think (although he clearly has a stance), but rather to question how polarization in our world is destroying acceptance of people who don’t align with certain cultural viewpoints." – Roger Ebert
