Film Information

Writer Amanda Brown wrote Legally Blonde from her experience going to Stanford Law School and being obsessed with fashion and beauty, reading Elle magazine, and frequently clashing with the personalities of her peers. Her novel became a film released on July 13, 2001, and was a hit with audiences, grossing $142 million worldwide on an $18 million budget, as well as receiving positive reviews from critics.

Elle Woods (Reese Witherspoon) has it all. She's the president of her sorority and dates the cutest fraternity boy on campus. But, there's just one thing stopping her boyfriend from popping the question: Elle is too blonde. So, when he packs up for Harvard Law, Elle rallies all her resources and gets into Harvard, determined to win him back. But law school is a far cry from the comforts of her poolside and the mall. Elle must wage the battle of her life, for her guy, for herself and for all blondes.

Reviews
"Legally Blonde is a featherweight comedy balanced between silliness and charm. It is impossible to dislike." -Roger Ebert
