What can be said? It’s breathless action and sparse dialogue that is completely on its own level while also calling to mind early silent filmmakers like Keaton, Chaplin, and Lloyd. Theron grabs your attention from the moment she enters a frame and you know that this is not the film you thought it would be. Many butts are kicked, names are taken, and faces ripped off. Mad Max: Fury Road is a masterpiece and if you haven’t seen it in a cinema here’s your chance. Witness it on 35mm. — Andy Helmkamp
