Rams

Dir. Gary Hustwit USA 74 min

2018

Directed by Gary Hustwit (Helvetica, Objectified, Urbanized), Rams is a documentary portrait of Dieter Rams, one of the most influential designers alive, and a rumination on consumerism, sustainability, and the future of design. The objects Dieter designed at Braun and Vitsoe have touched the lives of millions of people — think of iconic Braun coffeemakers, shavers, stereos, calculators, speakers, and alarm clocks — and his trailblazing work laid the foundation for the design of consumer electronics, like smart phones and tablets, that are now a ubiquitous accessory to life.
