Director Emma Seligman’s Shiva Baby is a fresh comedy about the chaos of early adulthood. Dragged to a claustrophobic Jewish funeral by her loving but frustrated parents, Danielle is forced to juggle different versions of herself when she runs into two unexpected guests — her sugar daddy and her ex-girlfriend. The breakout Rachel Sennott stars as a harried young woman confronting her disorganized life and messy relationships. The wonderful supporting cast includes Molly Gordon, Polly Draper, and Fred Melamed.
