Film Information
Errol Flynn stars in the swashbuckling role that made him a star as the legendary hero Robin Hood in the classic The Adventures of Robin Hood. Shot in brilliant Technicolor on a then-exorbitant budget of two million dollars, it raked in twice that amount at the box office and went on to win three Oscars at the 11th Academy Awards.
When King Richard the Lion Heart (Ian Hunter) leaves to fight in the Crusades, the evil Prince John (Claude Rains) plots with the help of the Sir Guy of Gisbourne (Basil Rathbone) to usurp the throne. Now, only Sir Robin of Locksley (Flynn), who earns the title of Robin Hood, stands with a daring band of Merry Men to defend the realm, its people and his King.
Reviews
"It is cinematic pageantry at its best, a highly imaginative telling of folklore in all the hues of Technicolor." – Variety
