About the Film

After a tragic car accident that kills his wife, a man discovers he can communicate with the dead, and he uses that gift to con people. However, when a demonic spirit appears, he may be the only one who can stop it from killing the living and the dead.

About the Panelists

Todd Richardson - Todd is a professor in the University of Nebraska at Omaha's Goodrich Scholarship Program. He is a member of Nebraska Folklife's Board of Directors, and he has been published in the Journal of American Folklore, Western Folklore, and the co-authored book Implied Nowhere: Absence in Folklore Studies.

Mystery Harwood - Mystery is a folklorist, teacher, and writer whose interests are always filtered through their love of everything creepy and haunting. Mystery is currently teaching at Union College in Lincoln, Nebraska, and serving on the board of the Nebraska Folklife organization. Their current research explores the intersection between folklore, narrative, and genre, particularly regarding ghosts, witches, and other creature of horror.

Scott Clark - Scott has worked for the Lincoln City Libraries
since June of 1980. He is currently a Library Service Associate at the main headquarters library in downtown Lincoln, NE. Beginning in 2002, he has been the "keeper of the Starkweather files" for the library system, including adding newly uncovered newspaper and magazine articles about the case to an extended clipping file maintained for research purposes. He has assisted researchers from around the world who are fascinated with this notorious case. Scott gave a well-attended public presentation in August 2023, entitled "Revisiting the Starkweather Murder Spree After 65 Years", the video of which will eventually be online.
