The Little Tramp becomes The Lone Prospector in this silent film. With classic Chaplin-built moments — awkward, charming, and physical — this film is most certainly a comedy. Though, in a Klondike town full of gold prospectors, hard-luck stories are also sure to unfold, including the plight of our hero who gets singled out by bullies. Perhaps these more dramatic moments were drawn from the real-life tough times of the director himself.
