Film Information

Based on Kevin Flynn and Gary Gerhardt’s nonfiction bestseller The Silent Brotherhood, this riveting historical thriller from director Justin Kurzel (Nitram) and screenwriter Zach Baylin (King Richard) recreates one of the largest manhunts in FBI history.

The year is 1983. A series of bank robberies and car heists plague the Pacific Northwest. Believing these crimes to be connected to a white supremacist organization, FBI Agent Husk (Jude Law) undertakes an investigation with the aid of an eager young small-town deputy (Ty Sheridan). Their search leads them to Robert Jay Mathews (Nicholas Hoult), a charismatic cult leader recruiting a small army to raise funds for an armed revolution.

Reviews

"It's superbly acted by its charismatic cast, the locations and the period are evoked beautifully, and, best of all, the violent robberies and shoot-outs are staged with a nerve-jangling ferocity that recalls Michael Mann's Heat." – BBC

"Jude Law, pouchy and downcast, with a weary mustache, plays Terry as an honest agent who is also a broken man, and this could well be the most searing, lived-in performance of Law’s career." – Variety
