Film Information

Get in the holiday spirit with Satoshi Kon’s (Perfect Blue, Millennium Actress) breathtaking anime marvel. Based loosely on the 1948 American film The 3 Godfathers, this tender tale of three people on the margins of society coming to the aid of a helpless abandoned infant is the inclusive, holiday heart warmer everyone can rejoice in.

One Christmas Eve, Hana, Gin, and Miyuki are rummaging for presents through heaps of garbage when they chance upon an abandoned baby. Appalled at the pitiful sight, Hana's maternal instincts kick in and she insists on finding the baby's parents. However, their plans are soon thrown into disarray as they get caught up in a series of unprecedented events.

Reviews

"To Kon’s credit, he never lets the heaviness of the subject matter get in the way of the comedy; conversely, the zaniness of the situations never demean the gravity of the topics. It’s a brilliant and difficult line to walk." – Nerdist

"See this film, open your mind to it, and I swear it'll open your heart for you." – Cinemablend
