Born in Grand Island in 1905, Henry Jaynes Fonda made his acting debut right here in Omaha at the Community Playhouse, a performance that would lead to more than 100 screen and television credits, many more appearances on Broadway, and a career as legendary as any in Hollywood history. With seven films we barely begin to scratch the surface of his extraordinary contributions to cinema, but with this series we pay tribute to one of our most legendary and prolific actors by highlighting a handful of his greatest films and most memorable performances.
