Film Information

At the time, co-director Daniel Kwan was worried that the movie he was working on was just too much. It's an entirely predictable issue—one written into the title of the movie—that also happens to be what makes the film feel genuinely singular and even, as its cacophony of elements clarifies into something startlingly simple, rather transcendent. The film made Oscars history, marking Michelle Yeoh the first Asian woman to win Best Actress and also becoming the first film to win six "above the line" awards (Best Picture, Director, Actor/Actress, Supporting Actor/Actress, and Screenplay)

A hilarious and big-hearted sci-fi action adventure, an audit of Evelyn's (Yeoh) laundromat triggers a heroic journey through alternate universes where the only constant is her complicated love for her family.
