Join us for a Community Collaboration with the River City Mixed Chorus and the Episcopal Diocese of Nebraska! Enjoy an evening spent in appreciation for the life and work of civil rights icon, Pauli Murray. Following the acclaimed documentary film, stay for a panel discussion with distinguished guests (see below) who will discuss the ways in which Murray’s activism for women’s rights, the rights of the LGBTQ+ community, and reform within the broader church continues to shape the world we live in today.

And, don't miss the River City Mixed Chorus and special guests at the Holland Performing Arts Center on April 5 at 7:05 pm as they premiere Sincerely Yours, Pauli Murray, by composer Steve Milloy and lyricist Kim Hines. Shavonne is a People Empowerment Advocate with 21 years of experience in healthcare and academic medical systems. She brings a strategic and creative, person-
focused approach to building and enhancing programs designed to educate and empower people and reshape the systems influencing
them. Shavonne excels at leveraging her multi-perspective lens to seamlessly engage with audiences ranging from executive leaders to community members. Her mission in life is to help empower others to be the best versions of themselves they can be at that time. Shavonne is a self-proclaimed Air Force Brat living in Omaha, NE with her husband, two sons, two dogs, a gecko and a cat.

Calvetta is Managing Director at the Pauli Murray Center for History and Social Justice in Durham, North Carolina, an organization dedicated to shining a light on the life and legacy of the Rev. Dr. Pauli Murray. Calvetta is a nonprofit leader who spent more than a decade serving victims and survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault, creating safe and healing spaces for individuals. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in social work from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and is a proud citizen of the Occaneechi Band of the Saponi Nation.

Rose is Legal Director with ACLU Nebraska where she oversees the ACLU’s statewide legal program, which focuses on bringing about systemic change through litigation, administrative advocacy and other legal strategies. The Nebraska ACLU’s legal docket regularly includes a range of impactful civil rights cases, featuring everything from police practices to LGBTQ+
rights. Rose was raised in Lexington, NE and is the proud daughter of immigrants and former meatpacking plant workers who graduated from Creighton University and earned her law degree from St. Louis University School of Law. Her work through policy, advocacy, and litigation has shaped Nebraska’s laws and helped protect Nebraskans’ rights.

Craig is Associate Rector at St. John’s Episcopal Church in St. Paul, Minnesota. At St. John’s, Craig provides oversight of the Pastoral Care, Liturgical, and Faith Formation ministries, sharing responsibilities of preaching, teaching, and officiating. He also serves on the Episcopal Church in Minnesota’s diocesan Racial Justice and Healing Formation Team. Craig was born and raised in Zimbabwe, attended St. George’s College in Harare and graduated from New England Conservatory of Music in Boston. He also holds a Master of Divinity degree from United Theological Seminary of the Twin Cities, a Master of Music degree from Indiana University, and is currently pursuing a Doctor of Ministry degree at Trinity College, University of Toronto. His interests include Decoloniality, Intersectionality, and Art Films.
