After viewing Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Edgar Rice Burroughs wrote to Walt Disney about adapting his novel of an ape-man into a feature animated cartoon. Sixty-some years later, the tale was finally told with brilliant design work that looks unlike any previous animated film. What gives the film its zing is its clever use of music (by the incredible Phil Collins) and the remarkable animation which used a 3D technology developed specifically for this film called Deep Canvas.
An orphaned infant is raised by a family of gorillas and ultimately accepted as one of their own. As Tarzan matures into a young man, his life changes forever when he finally meets other humans, with whom he feels an immediate and irresistible bond.
