TARZAN AND JANE REGAINED . . . SORT OF (1963) is a genre film inspired by Warhol’s visit to Los Angeles, where he met various celebrities and attended the opening of his show of Elvis paintings at the Ferus Gallery in 1963. The film was shot silent, but edited by the poet, actor, and filmmaker Taylor Mead, who also added a sound track consisting of pop songs and the sound track of an instructional movie, as well as his own ad-libbed remarks, some of which provide editorial commentary about what we are viewing.
