Local Filmmakers Showcase: Patrick Geske

Meet the 2012 Local Filmmakers: Part 2 of 9

PATRICK GESKE, Omaha, Nebraska
Director of  SOMEBODY HELP ME (by Howard), 4 minutes, and BLOODLINE (by Gus & Call), 6 minutes

Somebody Help Me

Director’s Statement: With music videos, I think the important thing is to create a visual intensity that corresponds to the emotional experience of listening to the music. When I hear a song, I immediately latch on to the feeling, the timbre of its sound. I like to think of these videos then as experiments in tone and feeling, and also as aiming to be a sort of visual manifestation of the songs’ sound.

Bloodline

Director’s Bio: Growing up in Minnesota, Patrick started making films as soon as he could remember. But since he didn’t have film then, or a camera for that matter, they were all in his head. He studied English and Film at Creighton University and Film Production Techniques IRL. He now has a camera. He looks forward to making some longer narrative videos in the months/years ahead.
