Nine to Five: Good looks
Since we opened the Ruth Sokolof Theater five years ago, some key people have been working behind the scenes to make us look pretty dang good.
Early on, the brilliant gentlemen at Oxide Design committed themselves to helping Film Streams get off the ground visually. Over the past several years, they contributed their many talents to creating everything from our letterhead to our website design to the Ruth Sokolof Theater marquee.
They designed our logo, too, though the very lovely linocut at the center of it was fashioned by Rachel’s sister, Sara Jacobson.
We have presented more than 30 different repertory series over the past five years, and many of those series have been accompanied with posters designed by the amazing Joey Lynch. You see them hanging on the walls of the theater, and can own one yourself.
In 2009, in recognition of the extraordinary support of Omaha philanthropist Dick Holland and his family, we commissioned artist Seth Johnson to create a collage in memory of Dick’s wife and arts champion Mary Holland.
Outside the theater, our own super-talented Aaron Haug is the one responsible for the spectacular Hitchock mural on our west-side wall and the charming Red Balloon painting behind the theater.
The list goes on. Theater staffer Amanda Fehlner, former design intern Nicholas Burroughs, Saddle Creek star Jadon Ulrich, and former Oxide designer and now independent problem solver Joe Sparano have all sent their genius our way.
To all of them, a thousand thanks.
